Pepper

Poor Pepper was put outside in a box during the bitter cold of winter by her owner who refused to take her to the vet to learn why she had been urinating blood for weeks. The man barely fed her, leaving this poor kitty to eat whatever she could find to survive. Our vet said her stomach was full of debris – dirt, pebbles, bits of sticks and grass.

After two months of being with us, Pepper was experiencing congestion and severe shortness of breath. X-rays showed her heart was 50% larger than it was when she first joined the Animals In Distress family. Unfortunately there was nothing that could be done for her, so it was decided to bring her peace.

Pepper was a very sweet little cat, and everyone at the shelter misses her.
