YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED.
It takes many volunteer hours and many bags of dog and cat food and cat litter to keep us going. We are always appreciative of donations. Remember, too, that a monetary gift is always the most appreciated.
HERE ARE SOME OF THE WAYS YOU CAN HELP:
- Donate
- Volunteer your time and special skills
- “Take a Pet to Dinner” Program
- Redner’s “Save-A-Tape” Program
- Fundraisers
- Shelter “Wish List”
- Chewy Shelter Program
- Amazon Wish List
Your donations are tax deductible and go to help the animals during their stay at Animals In Distress. Thank you for thinking of them.
OTHER WAYS TO HELP:
SCHOOL, SCOUT & COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS
We work with many groups and individuals who wish to complete various types of projects for their school, scouting organization or community service requirements and want to help animals in need at the same time. Our “Garden of Heroes” started out as an Eagle Scout project and many of our shelter videos were contributed by student groups working on community service projects. Contact us for information or project suggestions.
BIRTHDAY PARTIES
Many children now choose to have their birthday parties dedicated to our mission. Instead of receiving gifts, they request donations for the animals.
YARD SALES, BAKE SALES, ETC.
Many events can generate funds to be donated to Animals In Distress. They can be run as part of a larger event or individually, and give organizations and individuals a great sense of pride knowing they have helped animals in need.
WORKPLACE COLLECTION DRIVES & MATCHING DONATIONS
Many workplaces now have programs where they match their employees’ contributions to charitable organizations. Some match dollar for dollar; others will donate an hourly amount for their employees’ hours spent volunteering. Check with your employer to see if they support any of these fundraising initiatives.
Some companies also setup special days or weeks where donations are accepted for charitable organizations. These events usually generate a significant amount of much-needed supplies for an organization like Animals In Distress.
If you or your company are interested in these types of fund-raising and donation collecting opportunities, please contact us for suggestions or check our Shelter Wish List.
NETWORKING & SOCIAL EVENTS
Business networking and social events can generate a lot of donations (both supplies and monetary) for a charitable organization. Ask your event’s attendees to bring a donation to your event. We are often able to attend such events and bring some pets along to socialize with the attendees so they can see how their donations can make a difference for animals in need. Contact us for more information.
BUSINESS DONATIONS & SPONSORSHIP
Many of our larger fundraising events offer prizes to the event attendees. Most of these prizes are donated by local businesses. Prizes donated have been jewelry, small appliances, gift baskets, gift certificates, business services, event tickets, veterinary services and so much more. It is a great way to promote your business while helping a worthy cause.
Our events usually incur various expenses – printing costs, food for attendees, etc. Local businesses often donate food items and services to support our events, as well as provide monetary sponsorship. Contact us to find out how your business can participate and get promotion at the same time.
