KENNEL HELPER, FT/PT
There is always much work required in providing love and compassion to nearly 300 shelter pets. Animals In Distress is looking for individuals with the interest and commitment it takes to provide the care these animals are so deserving of.
We are in need of individuals who are:
- loving and compassionate towards animals,
- a team player,
- hard working, and
- willing to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
(After all… the animals need food and clean living just like we do.)
In no particular order, duties include:
- walking and exercising dogs,
- assisting pets in socialization,
- cleaning the cat rooms, dog runs, and related areas,
- feeding and providing basic animal care for our residents,
- stocking and organizing supply inventories,
- performing laundry services,
- lifting 25+ pounds in food and bulk litter,
- meeting with visitors to introduce pets to potential adopters,
- loving the residents of our no-kill shelter.
Opportunities for growth also incorporate learning how to:
- administer medications, and
- animal behavior modification and training.
