Morris is nine years old. He lived for five years in someone’s backyard. They would feed him twice a day and gave him shelter under their deck. But they were fearful to bring him inside since they had an elderly cat and did not know how he would react or if he had any outdoor illnesses. And so Morris just lived in the backyard alone. The woman was afraid for his safety when it became so bitterly cold this past year. He had survived an injured leg the year before, and some frostbite on the tips of his ears. She knew he was getting older and wanted to have a safe place for him to be. There were also many foxes in the woods nearby that would come into her yard and she knew he would have a harder time defending himself now..
When we took him in, we were amazed to see what a friendly, sweet cat he was! He was FIV positive, and had some ticks and fleas and roundworms. He was very shy and was hesitant with the other cats, but was always friendly and kind. He loved people!
He was adopted by one of our longtime volunteers and he now lives with two other cats and two dogs, and he is having the time of his life!
