The Story of Mac and Cheese

Mac and Cheese after being brought into the shelter.

Mac (left) and Cheese (right) came to us in March 2025. They were found eating from a dumpster at Cedar Beach Park in Allentown.

Both became very ill with Mac retaining fluid in his abdomen. Sadly for all of us, but especially for his brother Cheese, Mac’s life could not be saved and he died during surgery.

This is Cheese today. He has been treated for Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), a mutated form of the feline coronavirus. FIP was previously an untreatable disease, but Cheese has recovered nicely and is now living with other cats in the shelter.

Today, Cheese is doing well and looking for a new home.
