How you can help:

What is Radiothon?

Radiothon is the annual fundraiser for Animals In Distress. With the support of WAEB 790AM, Animals in Distress reaches across the Lehigh Valley during Radiothon to generate funding for animal care at their no-kill shelter housing over 350 dogs and cats.

WAEB's Bobby Gunther WalshBroadcasting Monday through Friday from the WAEB 790AM studios, Bobby Gunther Walsh shares rescue stories that can only happen with your generous donations. During the final two days of the Radiothon, join Bobby as he broadcasts live from Kospia Farms, Neighbors Home and Garden Center and Animals in Distress. Local businesses pledge money with matching hours during Bobby's broadcasts - the business will contribute the same total amount pledged by radio listeners during that hour. Generous private donors have also sponsored several hours of air time. Bobby's broadcast can also be seen live on Service Electric Cable channel 50. Tune in to see several of our animal rescues at WAEB's studios.

Not only do the animals win when you contribute during Radiothon, you can win too! Local merchants donate prizes that can be won by donors of various contribution levels. Donate and win!

About Animals In Distress

Animals in Distress is a non-profit, tax deductible sanctuary for animals who have little or no hope elsewhere. Its programs are designed to prevent suffering and to save lives. The shelter believes that there is a special home somewhere for every pet if there is enough time to find it. They keep every animal admitted, providing medical care, behavioral rehabilitation, good food, shelter, and, most important of all, love, until a suitable new home can be found. No animal is killed because it is unwanted, too old, or injured.

All donations are used for animal care expenses, since no one is paid for administrative, fund raising, and other non-animal care duties that are performed by a dedicated group of unpaid volunteers. The shelter receives no tax or public monies and relies totally on donations and fund raisers for its total operating budget. Volunteers work hard at events all year round to raise money. The Radiothon, pet photos at Easter and Christmas, walkathons, special setups at malls and festivals, raffles, bake sales, pet gift platters, craft and gift bazaars, silent auctions - all of these are just some of the ways that the shelter raises funds. Its monthly newsletter is its other main fund raising and public relations vehicle.
